Apple is having a Black Friday Sale…or are they?

apple-black-friday-imageFor the second year in a row, Apple is getting in on the Black Friday shopping craze by having an online-only Black Friday sale. Last year, they made headlines for getting in on the Black Friday bonanza, but when the big day finally arrived, Apple offered free shipping and only took 5%-10% off items!

We’re crossing our fingers that they’ll redeem themselves this year, but do note that Apple is calling this a “holiday shopping event,” not a Black Friday sale.

With over 30 pages of legitimately-great doorbuster deals, Walmart is laying claim to a large lead in 2009’s Black Friday race. Many of the best deals take place on Friday from 5-11am. ace-hardware-black-friday-adAt four pages long, the Ace Hardware Black Friday 2009 ad is substantially smaller than most of the other ads we’ve seen released, but it’s still full of great deals, especially if you’ve got a Mr./Mrs. Fix-It on your holiday shopping list. Stores open at 7am for doorbusting deals like a $19.99 Black & Decker 18 volt Cordless Drill with tool kit (after $25 mail-in rebate), tool kits from $4.99, holiday decor from $5.99, an Aerogarden Indoor Garden for $39.99 (after $10 rebate), a $19.99 Shop Stool, $9.99 “As Seen on TV” items and 2 for $2 deals on 8″ extension cords.

Many of the deals featured in the Ace Hardware Black Friday ad are priced after mail-in rebates, however the sales last from Friday morning through Sunday evening.

Over 300 Deals in the Kohl’s Black Friday Ad!

Highlights: 50% off toys (including Barbie, Playskool and Fischer-Price brand), extra 20% off fine jewelry pieces that are already up to 60% off, apparel deals from $2, kitchen electrics from $20, the Dyson DC14 vaccuum is $319.99 (normally $420), up to 30% off Wii games and a $10 gift card for every $50 spent!

After 1pm, Kohl’s continues the great deals with 20%-40% off toys and 40%-55% off outerwear, sleepwear, shoes and sweaters.

Old Navy is going all out for Black Friday 2009 (this opens a PDF of the Old Navy ad), or as the store is calling it, Gobblepalooza.  In fact, deals start on Thanksgiving Day with $15 sweaters for the whole family and 50% off outerwear.

Stores open Friday at 3am to start the Gobblepalooza rockin’ deals such as $5 Graphic Tees, $5 Performance Fleece tops, $10 jeans for kids, $15 jeans for adults and $15 frost-free jackets for kids. Plus, while supplies last, all purchases of $20 or more get a free Lego Rock Band game for your choice of Wii, XBox 360 or Playstation!

This year, Sears opens up at 4am on Black Friday 2009 and has over 599 Doorbuster deals until 12 pm. Highlights include 25% off Kenmore Elite appliances, up to $600 off LCD HD televisions and up to 50% off select Crafstman Tools. There’s also a coupon for $10 off $50 or more on any apparel, accessories, fragrance, home fashions and footwear purchase in the ad.

Additional Hot Deals and special pricing take effect after 12 pm on Friday through close on Saturday.
